This beginner class is structured to help you understand the basics of reduction printmaking from drawing and designing an image, to carving the block and printing. We will learn about paper, inks, carving tools and a variety of carving blocks, along with some history of the techniques we use. In this class, you will have the opportunity to have a more in-depth and less intimidating understanding of the basics with a group of your fellow beginners. Most materials and tools will be available in the classroom. Students pay a $75 fee to the instructor to cover the cost of all provided materials. The instructor will email you with a full list of any additional materials you will need.
