Many of the arts and crafts that we practice can stress our bodies for hours at a time. If you are looking for a low impact exercise to help alleviate this stress and create balance, give tai chi a try. In this workshop students will be introduced to “Ding Bu Chuan”, a unique form of snake-style tai chi. This standing exercise only requires only an arm’s length of space to perform. The exercise develops core strength, balance and flexibility of joints through 180 degree spinal twists, and stretches the muscles of the thorax as well as massaging internal organs and blood vessels. In this workshop, students will be introduced to the basic movements of this form through demonstrations and instruction.
