Sashiko with Cathy Wilkerson (W26)

Ready to slow down, get creative, and stitch your way to serenity? Join us for a relaxing yet rewarding workshop where we’ll explore the ancient Japanese art of Sashiko—a stunning embroidery technique that turns simple stitches into beautiful, intricate designs.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, this class will guide you through the essentials of Sashiko. We’ll dive into the best fabrics, threads, and needles, plus learn the signature techniques and patterns that make this art form so special.

Here’s what you’ll do:

* Stitch & Sample: Start with practice swatches to experiment with different patterns and color combos.

* Pick Your Design: Choose from a variety of beautiful Sashiko designs, then learn how to transfer your pattern onto fabric.

* Create Coasters: Use your new skills to create a set of custom coasters! (Don’t worry if you don’t finish—take home everything you need to complete them at your own pace.)

Plus, you’ll receive a list of tools and resources to continue your Sashiko journey at home.

Why Sashiko? Not only is it a wonderful way to personalize clothing, linens, and textiles, but it’s also a mindful practice that promotes relaxation and creativity.

Spaces are limited (this class is hands-on, after all!), so be sure to sign up early! If it fills up, we’ll put you on a waitlist.

Come join us and unlock the peaceful joy of mindful stitching. We can’t wait to stitch with you!
