This class will investigate the materials, methods and creativity in acrylic painting. We will cover basic color theory, how to create value, and many more elements of art and design. We will explore different compositional designs using objects for still life and photos of your choice. Everyone will explore ideas for subject matter and inspiration for paintings. Our objectives are to gain confidence and knowledge through learning the basics of creating a painting. We will have group and individual critiques and develop camaraderie and ideas in class through your own personal vision of creating artwork.

Students must bring from home or purchase these materials for the class: Acrylic paints, brushes, palette, water containers, palette knife, canvases.
