Giving Societies and Donations

The Handicraft Club has many opportunities to give and since we are an educational organization, we are a 501(c)(3) organization, these gifts are tax deductible. We hope that you might consider a gift to one of the following:

The Giving Societies

  • The Julia Lippitt Mauran Society: Named for our founder and comprised of members who wish to include the Club in their estate plans. Bequests are added to the Investment Fund.
  • The Truman Beckwith Circle: is named after Truman Beckwith who built the historic house in 1825 which became our Club house in 1925. This circle is comprised of members who contribute $1500 or more to the Club. Members can give as often as they would like. Feel free to contact Sharleen Bowen if you would like more information.

The Jessie Knight Fund is another opportunity to give. This fund may be used for various purposes including special speakers, to upgrading classroom space, materials and new equipment. This fund can be used to help maintain reasonable class fees, to seed funding for a new class or faculty enrichment

Tynietoy Mansion and Miniatures Fund – The funds received for this account are used to upgrade the Tynietoy Mansion and to purchase new furniture miniatures and accessories.

The Investment Fund – This fund is an endowment that helps support the upkeep and operations of the club on an ongoing basis. Occupying an historic building brings many challenges and surprises over the course of the year, and we use this fund to supplement our budget to ensure that we can keep our membership fees reasonable.

If you have any questions, please contact Sharleen Bowen at [email protected]. Donation checks can be made out to the Handicraft Club and sent to the Club with attention to Karen Weavill, Club Manager.

Registration for Spring Session has not yet started, but will begin on Tuesday, February 27th at Noon.
